The RICS has provided a summary of its actions and UK government requirements in response to the Grenfell Tower fire.

The RICS are continuing to offer advice and support to the recently appointed Housing Minister; Devolved Mayors and local administrations; and Government Departments such as DCLG.

To respond effectively to the evolving situation, the RICS are convening a working group of industry, and other interested parties. The group will provide expert advice, counsel and immediate assistance when required.

The DCLG is asking that all owners, landlords and managers of residential blocks identify whether Aluminium Composite Material has been used in any buildings in their portfolio.

Meanwhile the BRE are undertaking tests on cladding systems to identify which ACM system are at risk of failure and these test results will be published for the owners, landlords and managers to seek further advice.
